The Antidepressive Effects of Teciptiline Maleate

Abstract

|
The antidepressive effect and side-effects of teciptiline maleate were studied in 30 Korean depressive patients on multicenter basis. Dosage was 3 to 6 mg per day. Treatment period was 4 weeks. Average pre-treatment scores of Hamilton Rating
Scale
for
Depression had been decreased significantly throughout the treatment period. Of 30 patients. 73.3% were evaluated as marked or moderately improved and 23.3% as minimaly improved, while only one patient as unchanged. Decrease of somatic complaints
was
noted during 1st and 2nd weeks of treatment. One third of patients did not show any side-effects. Others showed various side-effects of mild degree which were mainly drowsiness and dizziness.
